Social Planning Cowichan

All-day Workshop: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Cultural Connections has a story to share about reconciliation: its highs and lows, the emotions it stirs up and unimaginable gifts. This experiential process is facilitated by Cowichan Elders who are working together with Canadians. The team will take you through the story of the first 145 years of Canada’s history and into the era of reconciliation. Participants will laugh, reconsider, reflect, deepen their understanding, maybe shed a tear, answer some tough questions and perhaps inspire a few new ones. This workshop is for anyone interested in developing a deeper understanding of our story, our history, how to build relationships, embrace diversity, end racism and build a community.

The Way of Council Workshop

Corinna Stevenson

Morning Workshop: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

For over 24 years Corinna has taught and guided people through personal transformation, first as a high school teacher and then as a therapeutic wilderness guide.  The Way of Council is about embracing deep listening, bearing witness, and compassionate action.

During this workshop, participants will be introduced to the principles of Council, a group practice for fostering healthy community, inquiry, and transformation which is both elegantly simple and remarkably powerful. Learning how to trust yourself, how to accept and even appreciate the unknown, welcome the mystery, and trust the unfolding while committing fully to do one’s part in maintaining balance are a few of the experiences that are at the heart of Council.
